every time there’s a natural disaster type event in an area where that specific kind of natural disaster event is not a common event, people who live in regions that experience those events often always want to treat the people in the region that just experienced a natural disaster event like they’re absolute idiots for being afraid during the disaster and always have something to say

like my man, girlie pop….. no one cares that *you* live in CA and are used to earthquakes. “laughing in californian!! that wasn’t major!” maybe shut up for a second and have just a little bit of empathy for other human beings? the infrastructure in california is better equipped for earthquakes and everyone there has likely experienced several earthquakes already, so a 4.8 isn’t major for you. it doesn’t feel scary for you. please stop invalidating how people in the northeast feel right now, like i’m begging youuu to stop. it’s a good thing that no one got hurt, but quite a bit of private property has been reported to have been damaged by the quake. hardworking, struggling people have to deal with that.

a lot of northerners did this to texans during the blizzard event that happened several years ago too, and people DID die. their pipes and heating and insulation were not built to handle that kind of natural event. and every time i see this happen, it annoys me. like please for the love of GOD develop some sense of identity outside of “i’m better than these other people because i’ve experienced it before and it doesn’t scare me!!! so they’re not allowed to be scared or upset!!!” give me a break.

i live in GA and we don’t experience many natural disaster type things here very often, but even if we did, i can assure you i wouldn’t be fixing my mouth to make fun of people who just went through something very scary and are being told could happen again because of aftershock. have a little bit of sympathy even if a 4.8 magnitude earthquake doesn’t seem so bad to you. life will humble you really quick & it costs nothing to be kind during times like this

2 weeks until this semester is over and i can have the summer off to just work in my lil shoe store and lawwwwddddd i am lacking motivation to do any more schoolwork. i am so tired of schoolwork. it isn’t even hard it’s just like stupid busywork riddle solving nonsense. like literally had multiple assignments due yesterday and a migraine and i was like ehhh 10% off each grade is fine i have high As in all my classes so whatever

and i feel guilty for that. sort of. but also not really. i have not stopped working my ass off for 12 weeks and i am tired 😭

there is no one more insufferable than a recruiter/hiring manager on the internet

they have their heads so far up their own asses, treat laborers like we are dumb, and refuse to accept any criticism…. and it makes it very obvious why the job market is so bad right now and why “no one wants to work.” HMs don’t want to do their jobs & can’t agree on a standard for resumes so they’ve decided to just run it through AI and then assert that the labor force is the problem and that none of us are deserving of jobs because of gaps on the resume (which are none of employers’ business actually!), using the wrong words, it’s too short, it’s too long, you shouldn’t submit a cover letter, you should submit a cover letter….. like recruiters can’t agree on any basic standard for resume formatting so you need 15 different resumes and cover letters for different roles and god forbid you expect them to actually *gasp* read them & SOMEHOWWWW they’re not the problem here

like sorry nope. if you’re a hiring manager, you’re the problem. you wonder why your turnover rates are high? maybe because you overlook great workers because the AI didn’t like that they used past tense or had a resume that was 1.5 pages long instead of 1 or maybe it just didn’t like the font!

seriously, i worked in hiring and recruiting for several months and i carefully read every single resume that was submitted. wasn’t fun or easy but i did it and didn’t have AI to help me

y’all are the lazy stupid ones oooop how about you have some grit and actually read a resume or 100 like i did and while you’re at it why don’t you come up with more employee benefits than 2 days of PTO after 2 years
